The St. Louis Pickleball League Team Tournament consists of 16 teams comprised of 2 men and 2 women. The teams are divided into 4 divisions, with 4 teams in each division.

The Teams

The teams will compete in doubles games in a round robin fashion. Every team will play every other team in their division. Each match will be comprised of 4 games, including 1 men’s, 1 women’s and 2 mixed.
Games will utilize traditional scoring, where you must be serving in order to score a point. Games will be played to 11 points and must be won by only 1 point. The team who wins the most games wins the match.
Ties will be resolved by point differential during all 4 games within the match, where point differential equals points for minus points against. The team with the higher point differential wins the match. If there’s still a tie, one doubles game will be played using each teams’ choice of players of any sex. This game will be played to 11 points and must be won by 1 point only.
The division winner will be determined by which team won the most matches. Ties will be resolved by which team won in their head-to-head match.
In the case of a 3 way tie, the total number of wins will determine the winner of a division. If it’s still tied, the total points differential will determine the winner of the division.
The winners of each division will then play each other, using the same format of 4 games per match. .
To decide who will serve first and who will get each side of the court, there will be a 1 or a 2 on the back of the scorecard. A player from a team will guess the number. If they’re correct, they get to decide which team serves first. If wrong, the other team gets to decide which team serves first. The team not deciding who serves first gets to decide which side of the court they get. At 6 points, the team losing the game gets to decide if they will switch sides of the court.

Skill Levels
There are no skill or age levels used to separate teams. Field the best team you can. We do recommend that players have at least intermediate skill levels (3.5+).
Backups
We recommend having backups for each player in case someone can’t play. There’s no limit to the number of players on your team. Substitutes can be made during a match, due to player injury. Other substitutes cannot be made during a match.
Rosters
After you register a team, we will send you a link for you to submit your roster. This will include your 4 core players. There’s no need to submit your backups. You need to submit your roster within 7 days of registering your team. After submitting your team’s roster, we’ll post your roster on the Rosters page.
Scores & Leaderboard
We’ll post the scores of each game and match on the Scores page, as well as the overall standings on the Leaderboard page.

Schroeder Park (359 Old Meramec Station Rd, Manchester, MO 63021)
Saturday, May 11th only: Holloway Park (335 Holloway Rd, Ballwin, MO 63011)
These are public parks with 4 dedicated-to-pickleball courts. Unfortunately, we cannot reserve the courts. However, the courts are usually empty from 12:00 – 4:00 PM.
We’ll only be using 2 courts each day. So, it shouldn’t be a problem. But please be courteous to any foresome waiting to play, and allow them to alternate games with you.

Each match should last 1-1.5 hours. With 3 matches each day, these will be 3-4 hour days of pickleball. Each player will not play every game, so there will be plenty of time to rest, hydrate and fuel yourself.
Prizes
The winning team will receive $400 worth of digital gift cards redeemable at Cheetah Pickleball, a St. Louis based company. The team captain will decide how to divide the earnings.
For example, if there are only 4 players on the team, we can issue a $100 digital gift card to each player. We just need names and email addresses for each player to send them their digital gift cards. If there are 8 players (4 core players and 4 substitutes), we can issue 8 cards with a $50 value each.
Any combination of digital gift cards is available to you.

You must submit your roster within 7 days of registering your team. We’ll send you the link to the form. If you don’t reply and submit your roster within 7 days of our email, we’ll remove your registration and allow others to select the team you selected.
Equipment & Referees
We will use the Cheetah M45 Pickleball. The balls will be provided. If you need some to practice with, you can purchase them from Cheetah Pickleball.
There will be no referees. There will be plenty of eyes on the courts for line calls, kitchen violations and serve violations. Please be honest, kind and courteous.

If the team you select says “Out of Stock”, that means someone has already claimed that team. If that team doesn’t submit their roster within 7 days, we will make that team available again.
